The K12 Online Conference provides outstanding opportunities for free, collaborative, accessible professional learning for educators around the globe. The K12 Online Learning Conference 2008 will begin with a pre-conference keynote during the week of October 13, 2008. During the following two weeks, October 20-24 and October 27-31, forty presentations will be posted online for participants to download and view.
Donna DesRoches and I, collectively known as the Disruptive Innovators, will be presenting Beyond the Stacks: Using Emerging Technologies to Strengthen Teacher-librarian Leadership. Due to the explosive transformation in how information in created, organized, and accessed, we hope to stimulate proactive conversations focused on teacher-librarians meeting the learning imperative for the 21st century. As we face continual obsolesce, the misguided supposition that it is the SPACE, rather than the TEACHER-LIBRARIAN that is required for 21st century learning must be eradicated (Harada).
